Restoration of the Michel Stiehr organ in the Protestant Church in Roppenheim

It was with great pleasure that I discovered this instrument. In fact, I only knew of the existence of this remarkably well-preserved instrument, but had never seen it before my visit to prepare this estimate. The fact that it is one of the first in a long series of instruments made by the Seltz workshops makes it one of the most important. Its integrity is quite remarkable, with much of it remaining in its original condition.

While we usually list what is original, in this case it is easier to list what is not original. There are only six items concerned:

-The top of the 4' Montre;
-The blower, which is by Stiehr but was added later, although it incorporates many elements of the original blower;
-The pedalboard, which has been extended to 27 notes instead of the original 15;
-The small additional pedal wind chest with its pipes;
-The transmission of notes and stops for the small additional pedal wind chest;
-The length of the reeds, which have been cut.

The musical parts: wind chests, mechanics, keyboard, pedalboard, console, etc., are intact.
